Process to backup and restore a PC with a faulty HDD

The hard drive was changed using the following procedure:
1) Open "Windows backup and restore (Windows 7)" in control panel
2) Select "create a system repair disk" and follow wizard to create recovery disk in USB drive or DVD
3) Once the recovery disk is create, select "create a system image" and follow wizard to create image in another spare USB backup hard drive
4) Replace faulty hard drive
5) Boot computer from USB recovery disk created previously
6) Click the “Troubleshoot” tile, click “Advanced Options,” and then click “System Image Recovery.”
7) Select Windows image previously created.
Once the Windows image was loaded, computer was tested and then taken to MagillL. The computer is working properly now.
